JSpell Evolution
AJAX Spell Checker

JSpell Evolution is an AJAX Based Spell Checker

JSpell Evolution is an advanced Ajax spell checker. As you type spellchecking is enabled on both Internet Explorer and Firefox. On Safari, Opera, Chrome, etc., JSpell will use a popup style spell check. JSpell Evolution has been tested to function on all major browsers. Note: IE11 support is *broken* in this demo. However, customers may request a version that is fully functional with IE11 while we prepare for our next release.

HTML <TEXTAREA> using JSpell Evolution

The "Spell Check" button gives you another way to interact with the product. Note: the popup will appear to the right by default. You can anchor the popup to any corner, side or center of the browser.

For larger documents and very high traffic sites, JSpell Evolution supports an on-demand spell check mode where the spell checker operates like the Google GMail spell checker.

JSpell Evolution installs on your web server and is compatible with any server side page generation technology including HTML, JSP, ASP .NET, CGI, PHP, Lotus Domino and more.

JSpell Evolution works with standard HTML form input fields (<input type=text> and <textarea>), contentEditable DIV and IFrame controls, FCKEditor, TinyMCE, WYSIWYGPro, Wikis, and almost anything else you can type into on a web page.

3rd Party WYSIWYG Editor Integration

TinyMCE FCKEditor Yahoo YUI Rich Text Editor

JSpell Evolution uses its own lightweight failsafe AJAX framework and communication mechanism which we have found to be much more stable than any other commercial or open-source AJAX framework. The internal AJAX framework is not accessible from outside JSpell and it will not interfere with any existing AJAX framework that you may already be using. Note: the realtime spell checker performs best on less than one page of text. If your text elements frequently contain more than one page of text you should consider using the traditional spell check dialog instead.

"Did You Mean?" Feature

Using JSpell Evolution you can also implement functionality similar to the "Did You Mean?" feature found on popular search engines such as Google Suggest. This capability allows you to automatically correct text that is entered into a field without requiring user intervention or refreshing a page for search results.

The correction will automatically remove repeated words and replace incorrect words (the incorrect word is replaced with the first suggested replacement that would normally be suggested by our spell checker engine).

The capability exists to build custom dictionaries that work against a specific vocabulary. For example, you could limit the suggestions to valid words in your search index, a parts database, etc.
